St. Armands sits between the causeways — over the John Ringling Causeway from downtown Sarasota, with Lido to the west and New Pass and Longboat to the north. Causeway traffic, Circle parking and event days are what break a schedule here, and there is no alternative route — the causeway is the only way on from the mainland.
